Episode #44: Take A Chance on Yourself featuring Napolean Da Legend

“Once you get busy and you get immersed in what you love and what you do and you really do it for the right reasons, then you realize that people around you are inspired and the people around are being influenced in a positive way.”

As an independent hip hop artist, the path that Napoleon Da Legend chose was neither easy nor has it been a straight line from point A to point B. His journey has been filled with all sorts of twists, turns and detours. At one point after the death of his father, a career in hip hop no longer seemed to be a realistic option.

“I just wanna live my dreams and see it thru, instead of living life to feed the beast and be it’s food”

Despite the personal setbacks, the Paris-born bilingual artist pushed ahead and took a chance on himself by moving from his Maryland home in the Washington DC area to unfamiliar Brooklyn, New York to pursue a career in hip hop music.

“I have this determination that's like this fire that's lit in me that, you know, I can't take no for an answer. I can't take failure for an answer”

The relocation turned out to be a fruitful one as Napoleon was able to make key industry contacts who recognized his true value as an artist.

He’s never looked back since.

None of Napoleon's industry success would've been possible if he didn’t take the necessary first step of taking a chance on himself.

The Audacious Living Podcast is pleased to welcome Napoleon who shares his story of perserverance, self-belief and taking action in spite of the concerns of others.
