Episode #187: Clearing Emotional Clutter! Featuring Naranjan Nota

“One of the perspectives that I often share with individuals is to recognize we're here for something more. We got dropped onto this planet as human beings carrying this soul and this huge baggage of experiences called life and if we look at life, from the perspective of there's more to it, than goong to work, coming home, have children get old be caregivers and die.”

As humans, we often accumulate emotional clutter - the buildup of feelings, thoughts, and memories that we hold onto, whether consciously or subconsciously. Just like physical clutter, emotional clutter can bog us down and prevent us from living our best lives.

In fact, cleaning emotional clutter is just as important as decluttering your physical environment. Here are a few reasons why:

1. It frees up mental energy: When we hold onto negative emotions, like resentment or anger, we spend a lot of mental energy rehashing past events and trying to justify our feelings. Letting go of emotional clutter frees up that mental space and allows us to focus on the present and future.

2. It improves relationships: Holding onto emotional clutter, like grudges or unresolved conflicts, can damage our relationships with family and friends. Letting go of negative emotions can help us communicate more effectively and build deeper, more fulfilling relationships.

3. It reduces stress: Holding onto emotional clutter can create a lot of stress and anxiety. By decluttering our emotions, we can reduce that stress and create a more peaceful state of mind.

So how can we clean up our emotional clutter? Here are a few tips:

1. Identify the emotional clutter: Take some time to reflect on your emotions and identify areas where you may be holding onto negative feelings. Write them down if it helps.

2. Practice forgiveness: One of the best ways to let go of emotional clutter is to practice forgiveness. This doesn't mean you have to forget what happened, but it does mean releasing the negative feelings you have associated with it.

3. Talk it out: Sometimes, the best way to let go of emotional clutter is to talk it out with someone you trust. This can help you process your feelings and gain perspective.

4. Take action: Sometimes, the best way to declutter our emotions is to take action. This may mean initiating a difficult conversation or taking steps to address a situation that's been bothering you.

Cleaning emotional clutter is just as important as decluttering your physical environment. It frees up mental energy, improves relationships, and reduces stress. By identifying emotional clutter, practicing forgiveness, talking it out, and taking action, we can create a more peaceful and fulfilling emotional state.

“The best part is seeing individuals really stepping into their power, and stepping into their gifts of what I want to, I want to do something different with my life now.”
