Episode #83: World’s Fastest Reader featuring Howard Berg

“The difference between being a success and being a failure is that successful people don't quit. They don't keep doing what doesn't work, they keep trying new things. But they don't quit until they get the formula that puts them where they need to be and that comes from learning.”

Learning is a lifelong activity. What oftentimes happens is we hear stories and become enamoured at how successful people like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates dropped out of college to chase a dream and struck gold. This creates a false illusion that learning and to a cetain degree education aren’t totally necessary ingredients to achieve a successful outcome in life.

In actuality, learning is integral to success.

Howard Berg is the world's fastest reader and is a huge proponent of lifelong learning. Berg has been recognized for setting the world record for speed reading. He is listed in the 1990 Guinness Book of World Records for reading more than 25,000 words a minute and writing more than 100 words a minute. He’s been featured on over 1,100 radio and television shows.

Howard took his passion of learning and developing others and has shared his special gift of speed reading with thousands of people all across the world through courses he offers on his website. He takes things a step further and also teaches people how to understand and retain information better.

“When I learned how to do it, I was able to do some amazing things. And then I said, you know if I can teach this to more people, maybe we can make a better world. Look what's going on in our world today. It's crazy that people could learn more and understand better maybe they make better decisions.”
